Love those boring days at the office...I've been dying to draw Kali/Durga for the longest time!
I decided to go with her more popular form rather than her traditional Mahakali form, but please excuse the lack of Shiva. Thankfully I had my coworker watch over me to make sure I didn't miss anything too important in this...phew! So Sush, this one's for you! Also, please don't mind that the kapala isn't catching any blood, my vision didn't have the severed head, thought the skull would compensate.
Now that I'm done stressing...here be Kali, of whom I have a portrait by my computer watching over me at work and of whom I worship...even though it's not my religion. Bah.
All done by soft pastel.
THIS was the image you were tlkaing about!
Oh my God Adri, it IS worth EVERY damn moment I waited.. becuase it is AMAZING.
Adri, I'm serious, this picture just kicks the other ones you made in the groin. The atmosphere of this... it's so powerful. I honestly think that even if you did put the blood in, it would not add very much to the piece, as your capture of it does so muhc justice, it would be a little unnecessary detail.
I'm so faving this becuase it WINZ.
So happy it's finally done, god the damn pressure. I admire you for pretty much taking it on ALL the time. My crazy girl
I'm seriously considering adding a couple more and actually making a series. I already have in mind who'll be next... Ganesha! Oh baby!
Me, I'm a Hanuman fan myself, but this rendition of Kali is cool!
Thank you! And Hanuman, that is awesome! Not many people (well, that I know) bring up Hanuman... maybe I should start a series...
